Republic of Tajikistan (Rogun PMG)
Grant No.: E1460-TJ
Assignment Title: Seismic Hazard Update Study at Rogun Dam
Reference No. (as per Procurement Plan): RHPP/CS/CQS/3
The Republic of Tajikistan has applied for financing from the World Bank towards the cost of the Technical Assistance for Financing Framework for Rogun Hydropower Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

The objective of the Seismic Hazard Update Study at Rogun Dam is to provide an updated and comprehensive assessment of the seismic hazard for the dam and its associated structures, including updating both deterministic and probabilistic seismic hazard analyses, by integrating the most recent data and ground motion models, estimating the maximum magnitude and associated ground motion for reservoir-triggered seismicity, Incorporating uncertainty in the estimation of fault rupture displacements at the dam site, considering both local and major nearby faults, Determining the topographic amplification factor for slope stability and designing structures on hills, etc.
The Terms of Reference (TOR) for the assignment are attached to this request for expressions of interest and may be found on the following link:
The shortlisting criteria are:
- At least 15 years of international experience in earthquake engineering projects, including structural and geotechnical engineering for hydropower projects.
- At least two completed seismic hazard assessment studies for hydropower project dams including deterministic and probabilistic seismic hazard assessment.
